Toyota Gazoo Racing’s history-making TS050 Hybrid has been modified with revised aerodynamics and further fine-tuning of mechanical parts to strengthen reliability ahead of the 2019-2020 FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) season.
Pascal Vasselon, technical director at Toyota Gazoo Racing, said, “Our car for this new season is not radically different from last season’s car. We introduced the TS050 Hybrid in 2016 so there has been ongoing development; this year’s updates are about optimizing details and reliability.
The eight-race 2019-2020 season, which begins this week with the annual Prologue test in Barcelona, represents the final competitive action for the TS050 Hybrid.
A farewell tour for the car begins on September 1 with the 4 Hours of Silverstone, the first of eight races on four continents and a combined 66 hours of racing on historic tracks such as Sebring, Spa-Francorchamps, Fuji Speedway and Le Mans.
