Century Motorsport has announced that it will switch to the new BMW M4 GT4 for its British GT Championship assault this year. Despite working with Ginetta ever since its British GT debut in 2009, the team will now field two BMWs.
Nathan Freke, team boss at Century, said, “2018 is shaping up to be a very exciting year for us. To bring BMW back to the British GT Championship with two M4 GT4s is a fantastic opportunity for us, and one that we are relishing. We have one extremely strong driver pairing confirmed, and the second pairing looks to be just as exciting.
Ben Tuck and Ben Green, who made appearances in the GT3 class at the end of last season, will share the first of the team’s cars with the line-up for a second car to be revealed shortly.
“The BMW is a well-tested and developed car and we expect to be extremely competitive with it,” added Freke. “We have the full support of BMW Motorsport and hope that this is the start of a successful relationship.”
The BMW M4 is the third new addition confirmed for the British GT4 field for 2018, together with the Mercedes-AMG and Jaguar F-Type SVR.
