Performance brake and clutch manufacturer Alcon Components has unveiled its latest brake-by-wire technology. Developed in collaboration with top-level motorsport suppliers and contractors, the AAC03 is a standalone, off-the-shelf solution.
Built for application in Formula E, the AAC03 consists of an integrated hydraulic power pack, servo valve-actuated active circuit and a failsafe manual backup circuit.
During development, focus was on reducing system weight and improving performance, with Alcon using advanced manufacturing technology in combination with an integrated ECU and fully enclosed wiring.
Alcon’s AAC03 will be available for adoption in advance of Formula E Season 7. To ensure that customers get the most from this technology, the company is offering a full training session for the front-line team who will be working with the unit.
