Sensor and data collection specialist Dewesoft has released two new measurement cameras for automotive and aerospace applications, the DS-CAM-640c and DS-CAM-1100m.
Both cameras record video that is synchronized to the dynamic sample rate of the data collection system, meaning that test engineers can make precise, frame-by-frame comparisons between sensor data and video images, both during and after recording.
The DS-CAM-640c color camera is capable of video recording at a resolution of 2,048 x 1,536px at 12-bit quality at a rate of 200fps. A higher frame rate of 640fps is possible at 640 × 480px resolution with a maximum frame rate of 5,000fps possible at 1920 x 16px.
The monochrome DS-CAM-1100m camera can produce 400fps at its highest resolution of 1,920 x 1,464px with 12-bit quality. At 640 x 480 resolution it is capable of 1,100fps, with a maximum frame rate of 6,000fps at 1,920 x 16px.
Both cameras use a standard RJ45 Ethernet cable to connect directly to a computer, or to a network switch when multiple cameras are used. PTP (precision time protocol), which is being added soon to Dewesoft’s DAQ software, is already supported by the cameras.
