Motorsport Biomechanics, a company that uses biomechanical data to assess muscle activity, has announced a partnership with Motorsport UK.
“We are excited about the opportunity to work with Motorsport UK to support their talented drivers across multiple disciplines,” said Michael Wakefield, founder and MD of Motorsport Biomechanics.
“When chasing marginal gains, engineers evaluate the mechanics of the car to go quicker; understanding the biomechanics of your body is just as important. Together with Motorsport UK we look forward to educating drivers on the importance of assessing biomechanical data live on the track and the benefits it can provide to their performance.”
The data Motorsport Biomechanics gathers will be used to improve driver performance and technique while on track.
Katie Baldwin, competitors pathway manager, Motorsport UK, said, “This is a really exciting partnership for the Motorsport UK Academy and one that will support our athletes with uncovering areas for development in both physical fitness and technical setup – ultimately helping to improve performance.
“The demands of motorsport can be huge, so understanding how to improve driver fatigue, technique and training programs are important aspects of the Academy. We’re looking forward to working with Motorsport Biomechanics to help our athletes push harder, go faster and unlock their potential.”
