Cosworth has been awarded the prestigious Dewar Trophy by the UK’s Royal Automobile Club. The award recognizes ‘outstanding technical achievement in the automotive industry’.
Cosworth received the award for its development of bespoke, low-volume, ultra-high-performance, naturally aspirated internal combustion engines (ICE) that exceed projected global regulatory standards. It has been responsible for a host of such high-performance road-car engines, the latest being a V16 for the Bugatti Tourbillon.
Cosworth managing director Bruce Wood commented, “Winning the Dewar Trophy is a remarkable achievement for Cosworth. It validates our focus on combining cutting-edge technologies with a process that ensures every product we develop meets the highest standards of quality and performance.
“Our recent collaborations with some of the world’s most prestigious automotive and motorsport brands have been pivotal in securing the Dewar Trophy and further highlight Cosworth’s leadership in high-performance automotive engineering.”
Cosworth is a previous winner of the award: in 1969 it took the honors with the legendary DFV Formula 1 V8.
