Leading British racewear company Walero has agreed a technical partnership with Team WRT, which competes in DTM, World Touring Cars, Blancpain GT Series and the TCR Europe.
Under the agreement, all of the team’s drivers will be equipped with the company’s flame-resistant temperature-regulated base layers. In turn, the drivers will help the company develop its next generation of motorsport underwear.
The Outlast fibers used in the fabric help to regulate core body temperature and reduce perspiration by up to 40%, which in turn means that drivers’ heart rates and respiration rates can be significantly reduced.
By managing the body’s physiology, Walero is able to assist driver performance through maintained hydration levels, reduced fatigue and also minimized heat stress potential. The base layers are SFI and FIA rated, meaning they can be used at all levels of international motorsport.
