Swiss EV powertrain and electronics development company Brusa Elektronik and Austrian EV motorsport brand Stard have signed an agreement to develop and market a range of e-motors, inverters, DC-DC converters and development services for motorsport applications, under the name STARDxBRUSA.
Brusa has worked alongside Stard for the past 10 years, providing equipment and components to be integrated into Stard’s own in-house development vehicles. Most recently, this has included the Stard ERX electric powertrain for the Projekt E EV FIA international series, and the Stard Citroën Racing C3 ERX electric Rally2 car.
Christian Stöckeler, vice president of engineering at Brusa, commented, “Stard is among just a handful of companies worldwide with true in-depth knowledge ranging from high-performance BEV battery systems through to profound entire vehicle development capability for motorsport and high performance, backed up by a lot of experience. Its vehicle integration competence is a vital complementary factor to set the right targets from the early concept phase onward, resulting in perfectly performed, appropriately designed and validated propulsion systems. We are delighted to deliver our components and system know-how for this highly demanding market, and to compete on the highest level.”
Under the agreement, Brusa is allowed direct access to Stard’s technology in the fields of battery development, electronics systems and vehicle integration. Stard, meanwhile, will lead the customer support element of the brand and service the pair’s product portfolio, including FIA-certified turnkey powertrain kits, proprietary motorsport and high-performance transmissions, and multiple other EV-related components and services.
STARDxBRUSA brand e-motors, inverters and DC-DC converters are available to customers and are presently being used in ongoing vehicle projects such as Hayden Paddon’s Hyundai New Zealand EV rally car and ERX Team Ferratum’s Ford Fiesta ERX.
“Brusa is one of the best-suited specialists in the world that we can imagine as our partner for developing propulsion and power electronics components. By adding the exclusive STARDxBRUSA systems to our portfolio, we at Stard can proudly say we have one of the most comprehensive line-ups,” concluded Michael Sakowicz, Stard founder and CEO.
