Viritech has introduced a range of battery management system (BMS) hardware and software to enable the integration of high-performance battery cells into automotive, marine and aerospace battery packs. The ecosystem comprises the BMS controller, BMS module-level unit and BMS cell interface and is aimed at OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers.
The BMS controller is a hardware unit capable of ASIL compliance, featuring advanced SOX algorithms for charge, health, energy and power management. With sampling rates exceeding 250Hz, it supports up to 64 module-level units, offering 768 voltage inputs and 512 temperature inputs.
The module-level unit is designed to integrate within battery packs, providing direct measurements of cell voltage and temperature to the BMS controller. The cell interface board is designed to facilitate the integration of the module-level unit with individual cells. A standardized interface board is also available for development and prototype vehicle applications.
Timothy Lyons, CEO of Viritech, said, “We are delighted to launch our battery management ecosystem, which features products with a broad range of applications for both production and prototype vehicles. In line with the Viritech ethos, the ecosystem provides OEMs and Tier 1s with the high-performance-enabling technology they need to build the next generation of zero-emission vehicles.”
