AET Motorsport, a British tuner specializing in Ford, has launched an upgrade package for the previous-generation Fiesta ST that will allow it to lap the Nordschleife in 8 mins 15 seconds. The modifications are priced at £10,000 (US$13,200).
The upgrade program includes both power upgrades that extract up to 330bhp from the 1.6-liter turbo engine, and a suite of chassis modifications.
The engine upgrades consist of the company’s own VT330R hybrid turbo and Vudu downpipe and rear engine mount, in addition to an induction kit, intercooler and re-circulation valve. The handling modifications are equally extensive, with a big brake kit, Kaaz LSD and KW coil-overs.
AET believes that with further refinements, it could knock another 30 seconds off its Nürburgring time, bringing it close to the Honda Civic Type R’s 7 minute 44 second lap record for production front-wheel drive cars.
