A new data and analytics partnership has been formed between McLaren Applied and KX, the developer of the kdb+ Data Timehouse and KDB.AI vector database. The collaboration will see McLaren Applied’s ATLAS (Advanced Telemetry Linked Acquisition System) platform enhanced through integration with KX’s kdb+ vector native, time series database, to enable motorsport teams to monitor race data and run AI and ML queries.
The ATLAS software package is capable of capturing, distributing, displaying and analyzing data from control and data logging systems. Following the integration, users will benefit from data analysis and visualization enhanced by KX’s scalability and performance. With a memory footprint of only 800kb, kdb+ can be used to augment insights delivered by ATLAS to enable the complex analysis of large data sets in real time.
Existing KX customers will also be able to use ATLAS’s abilities to increase their respective understanding of the behavior of multiple systems and subsystems through forensic data examination of high frequency data.
“The integration of KX’s kdb+ software with our already industry-leading ATLAS platform is fantastic news for both McLaren Applied and our customers,” explained Richard Saxby, director, motorsport at McLaren Applied.
“This partnership demonstrates our continued determination to deliver ever greater power, speed and agility to race teams on the pit wall, enabling them to do the same on track. It also opens opportunities for us to bring the power of ATLAS to customers in new markets.
“We look forward to seeing how kdb+ compatibility enhances our customers’ capability and experience, demonstrating the full potential of ATLAS that can be realized through further in-house and third-party development.”
“KDB.AI, the industry’s number one vector database, handles both structured time series and unstructured data with unparalleled proficiency – a critical function in the fast-paced world of automotive racing,” commented Ashok Reddy, CEO, KX.
“With McLaren Applied, an industry pace-setter renowned for its cutting-edge technology and high-performance solutions, we can bolster the capabilities of the ATLAS platform, already one of the fastest data management and analytics platforms. We are thrilled to further fortify ATLAS’s leading position in the industry, while supporting its expansion into new sectors.”
