Italian UFI Filters Group has confirmed that it will supply filtering solutions for the 2018 FIA Formula One World Championship. The renewed commitment sees the company remain one of the main suppliers of oil, cabin air and fuel filters.
“We provide from four to 14 filtering solutions to each racing car assembled by Scuderia Ferrari, Mercedes-AMG F1 team, Force India, Williams F1, Toro Rosso, Haas F1 Team and Alfa Romeo Sauber F1,” noted Giorgio Girondi, president of UFI Filters. “Each filter has been designed by our R&D department, which employs 180 engineers and technicians, and is manufactured in our plants.”
Headquartered in Nogarole Rocca, Verona, Italy, the company currently invests 5% of its turnover in R&D activities dedicated to innovation. As a result, UFI owns 167 international patents. In 2017, the company’s 14 plants produced more than 70 million filters for the automotive, agricultural, marine, industrial and mechanical engineering sectors.
“We are extremely proud, and we feel the responsibility of being a strategic supplier of F1 car manufacturers,” added Girondi. “The needs of racing car manufacturers require us to be at the forefront of technology innovation.”
