Natural fiber composite supplier Bcomp is to hold a series of webinars looking at the use of its materials in motorsport. Hosted by Johann Wacht, Bcomp’s motorsports manager, the initial seminar will study the specific use cases for natural fiber composites.
Bcomp notes that its ampliTex and powerRibs natural fiber solutions offer the same stiffness and weight of thin-walled monolithic carbon-fiber parts in a package that reduces the CO2 footprint by approximately 85% cradle-to-grave and is much safer due to a ductile breaking behavior that does not produce sharp debris in a crash.
Wacht has been motorsport manager at Bcomp since 2018 and is responsible for implementing the company’s solutions with motorsports clients around the world, from GT customer racing up to F1. With a background in mechanical and automotive engineering as well as international sports management, he has built no less than five cars from scratch and has worked with composites for nine years.
The Sustainable Lightweighting in Motorsports seminar will be held at 14:00 CET on June 23. Click here to sign up.
