Mitsui Chemicals and its subsidiary Arrk Corporation are using their jointly developed materials in a new high-performance concept car based on the Toyota Fortuner. The materials include direct pellet-fed 3D-printed components and Tafnex CF/PP, a unidirectional carbon fiber-reinforced polypropylene resin sheet.
These materials are featured in the Toyota Hyper-F Concept, a high-performance vehicle designed by TCD Asia, based in Bangkok, Thailand. Tafnex CF/PP is utilized in the decorative elements of the front bumper and hood air vents, while the 3D-printed components are used in the hood air duct bezels.
The Hyper-F Concept incorporates design elements aimed at improving road handling and aerodynamic performance. The new materials will contribute to a reduction in the car’s weight and aim to provide a unique experience with the inclusion of four sport seats, differentiating it from traditional two-seater models.
