BMW M Motorsport has intensified testing as the team prepares for the 2020 season in the BMW M4 DTM.
During three days of extensive testing at the Vallelunga circuit to the north of Rome, BMW DTM drivers Phillip Eng and Timo Glock racked up 460 laps of the Italian circuit totalling 1,851km (1,150 miles). Consistently good weather conditions allowed the team to implement technical ideas for the coming season with their newly modified BMW M4 DTM. Phillip Eng said, “Out on the track, we confirmed that we have been able to implement everything we resolved to do. The car is really very easy to drive.”
Before an upcoming test at the Monza circuit from 16-18 March, newcomers to the motorsport team Lucas Auer and Jonathan Aberdein were invited to spectate at the event in order to better understand strategies and processes at BMW M Motorsport. Driver Timo Glock said, “It was a positive test and we must now make sure we sort everything else out in Monza and continue to prepare well for the season.”
The first round of the 2020 DTM season starts April 24-26 in Zolder, Belgium.
