Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus has detailed development plans for its hypercar entry for the World Endurance Championship and its production variant. The SCG007 will challenge Toyota, Aston Martin and ByKolles in the top class of endurance racing.
Designed from a clean sheet, the hypercar has undergone preliminary wind tunnel analysis and is currently subject to extensive wind tunnel testing. The American manufacturer plans to complete the vehicle engineering by June, have the subsystems assembled by the end of July, and the car itself built before a first shakedown in September.
Priced at US$2.17m, the 1,100kg hypercar will be equipped with an 840hp V6 that has been specifically developed for Glickenhaus. The six-cylinder unit has a 3-liter capacity and its cylinders are positioned in a ‘V’ format.
Following eight years of partnership prior to this project, Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus and Podium Advanced Technologies will partner for the WEC challenge. Podium has been entrusted with the design of the car.
