Hennessey Special Vehicles, the Texas-based hypercar brand, has unveiled the Venom F5-M Roadster, stated to be the world’s most powerful manual production car.
Featuring a twin-turbocharged, 6.6-liter V8, the Venom F5-M develops a healthy 1,817bhp which is sent to the rear wheels via a gated six-speed manual gearbox.
Only 12 Venom F5-M Roadster will be built (all already sold – each priced from US$2.65m). The manual Venom F5 will stand out from other models with the most obvious exterior change being the 55-inch (1,400mm) dorsal fin that stretches from the roof-mounted air scoop right to the trailing edge of the rear.
The hypercar also features updates to its cabin with a novel layout and other details such as the aluminum and carbon fiber gear shifter and its milled billet aluminum gate. The Venom F5-M also features a bespoke livery featuring exposed carbon fiber with a colored central line and duel, contrasting accent stripes that flow up to the windshield.
The roadster is based on the Hennessey Venom GT, which set the world’s fastest open top speed record in 2016, achieving 265.6mph. For exclusivity, each owner is guaranteed a unique color that gets deleted from Hennessey’s configurator once chosen.
John Hennessey, founder and CEO, said, “Driving the Venom F5 is already a full body experience that thrills, inspires, and never gets old … but, we never say that’s enough, we never stand still. That’s why we’ve dived deeper into the sensation of driving, finding every touchpoint to deliver connection, feedback, sound and engagement. We believe that the Venom F5-M Roadster will be the most intense, immersive and extreme driving experience on the planet and a dozen lucky customers get to join us for the ride!”
Nathan Malinick, Hennessey director of design, added, “This is a car for bold and brave driving enthusiasts who like their hypercars to thrill with wild power, dramatic design and an experience behind the wheel that is incomparable to anything else on Earth.”
