Development drivers Trent Hindman and Shelby Blackstock will race together in the NSX GT3 Evo for a full 13 round SRO GT World Challenge America season.
Hindman and Blackstock have both had success in the Sports Car and Touring Car endurance classes previously, with Hindman winning the drivers’ and team championship at the IMSA GTD, and Blackstock delivering back-to-back wins at Daytona and Sebring last year, making the move into the Grand Touring discipline a natural fit.
Competing for Racers Edge Motorsports, Blackstock said, “With my endurance racing experience in the TCR class, there’s no better way to continue my progress than with a class champion like Trent and the proven Acura NSX GT3 Evo.” Hindman will also be competing for Heinricher Racing in the 2020 IMSA endurance series, adding to an already full season of racing.
Having won the 2019 SRO World Challenge GT Pro/Am Championship alongside Racers Edge with drivers Martin Barkey and Kyle Marcelli, Acura Motorsports and HPD have set the bar high going into the 2020 season and will provide all technical and trackside support for the new pairing at each race or test event.
Manager of HPD Commercial Motorsports John Whiteman said, “We have seen the success of the Acura Motorsports programs and this pairing is an example of how our product line can bring talented drivers together. We see this as an opportunity for Shelby and Trent to continue to develop their race craft, and cannot wait to see what they do together.”
