The first examples of the new Lotus Emira GT4 are scheduled to reach customers this summer with the vehicle now in production and sporting an array of performance-oriented enhancements.
Improvements to the Emira GT4 include a 10% increase in power – now totaling 461ps – and a brand new 6-speed, paddle shift sequential racing gearbox with a supporting control system. Additional changes include improved aerodynamics to enhance driving on circuits with both tight turns and faster sections, and an enhanced braking system, springs, damping and cooling packs.
Despite being homologated for use within global GT4 classes, the Emira GT4 can also be used in additional international non-homologated and specialist race series due to the vehicle’s extensive component options list.
Development of the Emira GT4 was carried out in partnership with the RML Group, with the car upgraded from the version unveiled in the UK in 2022.
“The Emira road car was such an excellent starting point for a GT4, and we’ve now further refined and tuned the package with the team at RML to create what we believe is a highly competitive and performance-oriented race car,” said Gavan Kershaw, director of vehicle attributes, Lotus. “We know our customers are keen to get behind the wheel and we’re looking forward to seeing their results.”
The Emira GT4 customer cars will be hand built at a new production facility in Wellingborough, UK, by the RML team, and will cost approximately £179,000 (U$225,277).
