Following the French motorsport governing body FFSA’s initiative to make motorsports more affordable with the introduction of its FR6 ruleset, and hot on the heels of Peugeot’s 208 Racing, Renault is expanding the Clio range of customer race cars with the Clio Rally6. To achieve this, it will offer a kit compatible with the fifth generation of the production Clio for €19,999,(US$20,940) including VAT.
Renault is the first manufacturer to respond to the FR6 regulations with a kit-based solution. Customers will first purchase an eligible production Renault Clio fitted with a 1.3-liter TCe engine developing 140bhp and a 6-speed manual transmission. After this initial step, the kit containing all the technical and safety elements necessary for the transformation can be fitted, with a considerable number of parts sourced from the Clio Rally5. The only extra is a requirement to fit a Rally4 or Rally5 specification roll cage from an approved installer at a cost of €2,640 ($2765) including VAT.
