Building on the experience of Toyota Gazoo Racing (TGR) and the GR Supra GT4, Japanese OEM Toyota has released the much-revised and updated GR Supra GT4 EVO, which will make its competition debut in 2023.
Toyota says that the newly developed race car will deliver enhanced braking, handling and engine performance due to an optimized torque curve, following constructive customer feedback and evaluation of the previous iteration.
Delivering power is a 3.0-liter, inline six-cylinder turbocharged engine mated to an automatic 6-speed ZF transmission. The combination produces a maximum torque figure of 660Nm. Helping the engine to breathe is a full Akrapović racing exhaust system.
For 2023, Toyota has ensured a better level of handling and corning speed by improving the vehicle’s braking components, which include Brembo six-piston racing calipers at the front and four-piston racing calipers at the rear. The OEM has also changed the ABS settings and revised the specification of the KW shock absorbers and anti-roll bars.
The GR Supra GT4 EVO is scheduled to make its racing debut in the opening round of the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge season at Daytona, USA in January 2023.
The car is currently available to order for €186,000 (US$185,000). Existing customers with last year’s GT4 can upgrade their vehicles to EVO specification by purchasing an upgrade kit.
