Yokohama Tire Corporation has announced a deal to become the title sponsor of the 2018 National Off-Road Racing Association’s Mexican 100. The race, which will take place in Mexico’s Baja peninsula, is a five-day, 1,500-mile drive starting from Ensenada on April 22nd.
The deal to sponsor the NORRA Mexican 1000, follows a sponsorship drive from the Japanese company, that has recently seen deals with Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge USA and Ultra 94 Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Canada.
“The Mexican 1000 is a classic Baja off-road rally,” said Fardad Niknam, Yokohama Tire director of segment development. “It’s a fun event for racers and lots of enthusiasts. As the title sponsor, we are excited and proud to partner with NORRA and continue our commitment to the off-road community.”
YTC are expected to use the sponsorship deals to highlight the Geolander tire line, which will be used at the NORRA Mexican 1000.
Mike Pearlman, NORRA president, was also keen to praise the deal, “It’s fantastic to partner with Yokohama, we welcome them aboard and I’m sure all the Mexican 1000 fans and racers do, too.”
