Last week, the FIA World Motor Sport Council met together as part of a week dedicated to motorsports. Amongst the topics covered, the council organised and approved the dates of June 16-17, 2018 for the 86th edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
The 2018 race, which will include the official return of BMW in GTE, will once again take place on the 24th weekend of the year, with drivers being able to take maximum advantage of daylight.
The remainder of the FIA World Endurance Championship will be announced at a later date. With an increasing number of drivers competing in both championships, it has also been agreed in principal between the Formula E and WEC championships that no date clashes will take place throughout the season.
