The inaugural Nordic Esports Championship is set to kick off in 2024, marking the first official esports competition in the Nordics. Simracers from Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden will compete for virtual glory in a unique blend of rallycross and single-seater racing.
Taking place on April 27, the championship will feature 25 digital racers showcasing their skills across two distinct motorsport disciplines: circuit racing in FIA F4 and rallycross in Rallycross Supercars, with racing carried out in the iRacing motorsports game.
Organized by motorsport authorities from the five Nordic countries – NBF, DASU, AKK, AKIS, and SBF – each federation will nominate five drivers to represent their nation. Ten drivers will compete in rallycross races at the Lånkebanen (Hell) rallycross circuit, while the remaining 15 will race at Rudskogen in the FIA F4 category. Points earned by each nation’s drivers will decide the overall Nordic Esports Championship 2024 title.
The championship will be broadcast on YouTube from 10:00am to 3:30pm CET and is supported by the FIA Motorsport Funding Program.
