Automobili Lamborghini has entered the world of e-sport with virtual one-make series The Real Race.
The event, in partnership with Assetto Corse Competizione by Kunos Simulazioni, is Lamborghini’s first official e-sports entry. The first qualifier event is being held on May 29.
The game is also being used for real-world preparations by official Lamborghini Squadra Corse test and race drivers.
Three-time winning car of the Daytona 24 Hours, the Lamborghini Huracan GT3, will be created in digital form for the series.
The top players from the live finals will receive a three-day experience in Italy and the chance to train alongside Lamborghini Squadra Corse drivers and drive real racing cars.
Five qualifier weeks take place until August 2, with the top three players from the first and last qualifier, and the top two from the second, third and fourth taking part in the live final on September 18.
Stefano Domenicali, chairman and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini, said, “E-sports creates an environment where race heroes and top drivers can be challenged by anyone. This encourages wider engagement with real-life racing, reflected by Lamborghini’s investment in this new sports platform.”
