Rabble.club will sponsor the Sandown 500 in 2018, obtaining the naming rights for the race and becoming the ‘official health, lifestyle and wellbeing partner of the Virgin Australia Supercars Championship’.
The first race of the Pirtek Enduro Cup, which was called the Wilson Security Sandown 500 since 2013, will now be known as the Rabble.club Sandown 500.
Rabble.club’s Supercars involvement already includes sponsorship of Richie Stanaway’s Tickford Ford and personal deals with James Courtney and Garry Jacobson.
The company also plans to introduce an athlete management system that will eventually be used by medical staff, drivers, teams, marshals and volunteers. This system will record live data during training and racing that can be fed back to the athletes, teams, trainers, allied health and medical staff.
Supercars CEO Sean Seamer said, “The physical and mental challenge of racing these extremely powerful, fast, heavy and hot race cars over long periods and in intense conditions put these drivers in the elite athlete class.
“This system will enhance training regimes and offer real-time monitoring during racing, testing and training. It will help with the way they structure their training and to monitor their wellbeing in the car.”
