The Silverstone Classic 2020 has been canceled, with COVID-19 making it unfeasible. Originally scheduled for July 31-August 2, the classic motor racing festival attracts over 100,000 visitors.
This year was meant to be the event’s 30th birthday featuring a ‘greatest hits’ race card but social distancing, and other necessary measures, has meant the organizers felt they had no other option but to reschedule for 2021.
Nick Wigley, CEO of Goose Live Events, which organizes the Silverstone Classic, said, “Following the latest government advice, coupled with other scheduling changes at Silverstone, we have reached the inevitable conclusion that we will need to cancel this year’s event.”
Ticketholders who had purchased super early bird and early bird tickets will be offered the option of a refund or rolling tickets over to 2021.
