Steller Performance has announced that it will be the first team to field an Audi R8 LMS GT4 in the British GT Championship when the team lines up at Snetterton.
Audi Sport’s R8 LMS GT4, which is equipped with the 5.2-liter V10 engine that features in the production vehicle, was homologated early in 2018 but the car is yet to debut in the series.
The team has previously fielded a self-engineered Toyota GT86, but has made the decision to switch to the German manufacturer for its 2019 program. Following confirmation of the Audi’s involvement, nine manufactures are now expected to race together for the first time in series history.
