W Series, the single-seater championship for female drivers, will stage all-new races in the USA and Mexico alongside Formula 1 in 2020. The W Series’s USA race will take place at Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas, and the Mexico race will take place at Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez in Mexico City.
The two new W Series races will form a championship-deciding ‘double header’, held on consecutive weekends, and will be rounds seven and eight of the eight-race 2020 championship.
“We at W Series are absolutely delighted that, in only our second season, our championship has been welcomed by Formula 1,” said W Series CEO Catherine Bond Muir. “Our two all-new races will follow six races on the DTM platform, making a very varied, extremely exciting and truly international eight-race championship.”
The full W Series championship calendar for the new season starts in St Petersburg, Russia, and which is followed by races at Anderstorp, Sweden; Monza, Italy; Norisring, Germany; Brands Hatch, UK; Assen, Netherlands; Austin, USA; and Mexico City, Mexico.
