Performance exhaust specialist Milltek Sport has reinforced its dedication to responsible tuning practices with a solutions line-up of now more than 900 ECE type approved products, as it supports efforts to prevent the use of non-road-legal aftermarket parts on the street.
The solutions are engineered to enhance vehicle performance, sound and aesthetics while adhering to necessary emissions control regulations.
Since 2009, Milltek Sport has implemented an identification and traceability process, marking its solutions as either street legal or designated for off-road use.
In light of the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency’s (DVSA) crackdown on illegal vehicle modifications in the UK, Milltek Sport says it remains steadfast in its commitment to promoting responsible tuning, including educating dealers and customers internationally about the importance of adhering to regulations.
The company’s range of exhaust systems includes cat-back, axle-back and particulate filter-back systems, as well as ECE-approved catalysts, which aim to provide improvements over factory exhaust systems while remaining legal for road use.
As a founding member of the Performance Automotive Aftermarket Association’s (PAAA) Safe Modification and Responsible Tuning campaign (SMART), Milltek Sport promotes safe, legal and socially responsible tuning practices. The company says its support for initiatives such as Devon & Cornwall Police’s modified car community engagement project demonstrates its commitment to road safety.
Steve Pound, managing director of Milltek Sport, said, “Over the last 40 years, we’ve developed a reputation for producing high-quality, premium exhaust systems to suitable for a wide range of applications – whether that’s on the street, or on the circuit.
“Achieving ECE approval on over 900 of our products reflects our commitment to manufacturing exhaust systems of the highest quality, and we’ll continue to collaborate with the PAAA to promote safe and responsible practices across the industry.”
