Visitors to JAPO Motorsport GmbH’s stand at the 2017 Professional MotorSport World Expo could pore over the all-new Astra TCR; a joint-development between Kissling Motorsport, Opel Motorsport and JAPO Motorsport.
Responsible for refining the wiring-harness, electrical experts JAPO supplied an entirely new high-grade competition-spec wiring loom to the project. Also responsible for the marketing of the car from 2018 onwards, the German company are keen to extol the virtues of the car, which is able to compete in championships organised by IMSA, Creventic and others; infinitely broadening the appeal of the Astra.
Due to Opel’s recent realignment within the PSA Group, purchase price is yet to be confirmed by the team, but they remain optimistic that the Astra TCR will represent exceptional value on the grid.
The German company will be one of several brands attending the forthcoming TCR UK test day session at Brands Hatch circuit in the UK, aimed at introducing the new championship to its latest territory, which is scheduled for the end of this month (29th November).
JAPO Motorsport can be found at Professional MotorSport World Expo 2017, Booth 2026.
