Öhlins, a major supplier to international teams involved with Formula 1, WTCC and all classes of LMP has been showcasing its comprehensive range of damper and suspension solutions at Professional MotorSport World Expo 2017.
The brand has showcased its TTX-series dampers, which have found huge favour amongst OEM customer racing programs; becoming the damper of choice for Audi, Bentley, BMW, Lamborghini, Lexus, McLaren, Nissan and Ginetta when equipping their GT3 factory racing cars.
The Swedish manufacturer is also heavily involved in the German-domestic VLN endurance championship; thanks to the brand’s Distribution and Test Center (DTC) being located trackside to the Nürburgring Nordschleife. This enables engineers and technicians from Öhlins to assist teams in specifying, installing and setting up their competition car’s suspension. As a result of this flexibility and approach, several titles and many podiums have been achieved in different classes. In addition, this season saw the Öhlins DTC squad offer support the teams and drivers at TCR and ADAC GT- Masters, with the brand’s servicing truck and engineers within the paddock at every race.
Such is the commitment to motorsport by Öhlins that a number of significant titles and race victories have been claimed, including a podium clean-sweep in the 2017 running of the N24 via two Audi Sport Team Audi R8 LMS’s, and Rowe Racing’s BMW M6 GT3. Perhaps even more impressive, 9 out of the 12 first cars overall in 2017 were equipped with Öhlins dampers.
Öhlins can also lay claim to two TCR champions using its dampers in the brand’s first year involved with the new touring car discipline. The overall victory went to the Team Target Competition UK-SUI with Honda Civic TCR whilst the winner of the Rookie Challenge was the Junior Team Engstler’s Golf GTI; also on Öhlins.
In addition to all of these; the brand has also celebrated victory at the Spa 24h with another Audi R8 LMS win, as well as domination of Blancpain’s sprint and endurance formats.
If the sound of success is appealing to you, then Öhlins can be found in Professional MotorSport World Expo 2017 Booth 5045.
