Racelogic (Booth 5004) has brought a number of new products and product updates to PMW Expo. Its latest new products are a tire temperature surface sensor and a touchscreen datalogger that can be operated with racing gloves.
Managing director Leander Speth outlined the benefits of the new tire temperature monitoring system: “It uses only one sensor per tire and the sensors have a viewing angle of 120°, so it only needs to be mounted 15cm from the tire, making it very convenient to mount them in the wheel arch of a touring car or GT car. The setup of the system is also very easy, because in combination with the VBOX Touch’s monitor, you get optical guidance, which makes it possible to set the system up in one to two hours.”
The VBOX Touch features a 4.3in color touchscreen, a 10Hz GPS receiver and two separate CAN channels to give it the ability to run multiple applications on the same hardware. Racelogic is also previewing a ‘little sister’ to the VBOX Touch on its booth. The Performance Box Touch is set to be released in early 2020 and is positioned as an easy-to-use GPS datalogger for performance testing and simple benchmark testing for the automotive industry, as well as tuning companies. It can be used as a datalogger and lap timer for track days, as it features Racelogic’s predictive lap-timing feature.
