Professional MotorSport World Expo – the international exhibition featuring over 230 exhibitors showcasing their latest innovations to car constructors, high-performance OEMs, motorsport teams, race car engineers and race car drivers – opens next week. Over 4,000 visitors are expected from at least 50 countries, giving the Expo a truly international complexion.
Taking place at the Köln Messe, Cologne, Germany, from Wednesday 13th to Friday 15th November, 2019, this year’s Expo is set to see a host of new products and solutions for race vehicles (engine components, chassis and suspension systems, brakes, etc), as well as for transportation and logistics, support crews, paddock equipment and tooling, metrology, data capture, communications, and testing.
Staged in the second week of November, the show is perfectly scheduled to give race teams and constructors time to look at and consider which technologies are likely to fit in with their 2020 programs.
Exhibitors include specialists in everything from engine design and components to racetrack recovery equipment and crash barriers. Some of the big names not to be missed in 2019 include Continental, Ferrari Technology, Bosch, AP Racing, VBOX Motor Sport, Wagner Tuning, ChassisSim and Ricardo.

Free-to-attend workshops
Taking place alongside an exhibition floor packed full of exciting innovations, another key feature of Professional MotorSport World Expo is the free-to-attend engineering workshop programme (with presentations split between German and English). Some 30 speakers will offer expert advice on additive manufacturing, aerodynamics, braking, dampers, data processing, driving lines, e-motors and more!
Highlights from this year’s programme include presentations on battery electric vehicle racing in extreme environments, courtesy of Glen Pascoe, Principal Engineer at Williams Advanced Engineering; designing the EV race cars of the future, with Angus Lyon, Director of Rockfort Engineering; and an insight into how to harness aerodynamics, from Willem Toet, aerodynamics specialist/senior manager aerodynamic services
at Sauber Aerodynamics AG.
Who will triumph at the awards?
The Expo will also once again host an exclusive judging panel of more than 20 leading motorsport journalists, who will reveal the winners and runners up in the 2019 edition of the Professional MotorSport World Expo Awards, during an exclusive gala evening dinner.
The awards recognize the efforts of individuals, teams and suppliers across the industry, via six dedicated categories: Motorsport Facility of the Year, Motorsport Technology of the Year, European Race Series Team of the Year, International Race Car of the Year, Outstanding Contribution of the Year and UK Young Rally Driver of the Year.
The Expo is open only to race drivers, teams, engineering and technical people and, of course, dealers and distributors, providing the perfect platform for making new contacts, serious discussion and real business.
