With decades of experience, Cosworth is synonymous with world-class motorsport, offering industry-leading powertrain and innovative, state-of- the-art performance electronic solutions.
Its latest products will be on show on Stand 6014 at the 2017 Professional MotorSport World Expo, and include the Central Logger Unit (CLU). The CLU data logging and control system has been designed as a replacement for the extremely successful Sigma platform, the next- gen CLU provides support for fully customisable AutoCoded control strategies and class-leading, synchronised logging of 32×16-bit analogue inputs, with up to 50kH z burst logging.
Also on display at the Expo will be Cosworth’s Synchronous Junction Unit (SJU); a ruggedized for motorsport use and provides 24×16-bit analogue inputs. Up to five units can be used concurrently with the CLU, offering a highly expandable and synchronous solution.
Enabled with EtherCAT technology, the CLU and SJU deliver greater precision with class leading synchronisation by the exact adjustment of distributed clocks, and a fast-Ethernet, transmission rate of 100 Mbit/s. EtherCAT is quicker to set-up with no address setting required, and all time-critical functions are implemented on ASIC or FPGA, ensuring network performance is unaffected by application micro-processor performance.
In addition to its booth at the Expo, Cosworth’s experts will also discuss the benefits and uses of piezoelectric fuel injectors in motorsport and automotive applications on the Motorsport Technology Presentations stage.
