Beginning in 2024, Turkish rider Toprak Razgatlioğlu will become part of the BMW Motorrad Motorsport FIM Superbike World Championship (WorldSBK) factory squad.
Having won the 2021 World Championship, Razgatlioğlu will compete next season on the BMW M 1000 RR as a rider for the ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team. Additional rider/team allocations will be announced at a later date.
Razgatlioğlu made his debut in WorldSBK in 2018 and has so far achieved 33 wins and 93 podiums over 168 WorldSBK races.
“Welcome to the BMW Motorrad Motorsport family, Toprak Razgatlioğlu!” said Dr Markus Schramm, head of BMW Motorrad. “We are delighted to welcome him to our WorldSBK factory squad from next season and I am very proud that Toprak has opted to join BMW Motorrad. This is a forward-looking step for our project and a strong commitment of BMW Motorrad Motorsport in World Superbike.”
“Toprak is undoubtedly one of the best riders in the field at the moment, which he proved by winning the 2021 World Championship title,” added Marc Bongers, motorsport director at BMW Motorrad. “He’s not just a fast motorcycle racer, he’s also a great personality off the track.
“We are convinced that Toprak will settle into the BMW Motorrad Motorsport family very quickly and we are looking forward to our collaboration and to our future together,” Bongers added.
