Envision Virgin Racing and the Teijin Group have signed a multi-year contract which will support the team’s participation in the ABB FIA Formula E Championship. As part of the agreement, Teijin Group and Envision Virgin Racing will exchange technology know-how.
Teijin Group will develop high-performance materials and products that will help improve comfort for Envision Racing drivers. In the future, Teijin will also explore new business opportunities through the development of lightweight, high-performance automotive components.
Jun Suzuki, president and CEO of Teijin Limited, said, “By supporting Envision Virgin Racing, we will develop technologies and accumulate the know-how and solution capabilities required for future EVs that satisfy ever-stricter environmental regulations.”
The Envision Virgin Racing team MD, Sylvain Filippi, added, “Being able to tap into [Teijin’s] wealth of expertise and high-performance material and composite technologies will help us on track.”
