The Ferrari Driver Academy has agreed a partnership with Motorsport Australia. Soon it will be part of the Motorsport Australia Centre of Excellence at Motorsport Park, with construction due to start in the coming months.
Australia will be the academy’s Asia-Pacific selection zone covering countries across the Indian subcontinent, south and east Asia, and Oceania.
Andrew Papadopoulos, president of Motorsport Australia, said, “This partnership with Ferrari Driver Academy is a historic moment for Motorsport Australia and certainly a significant boost to the development opportunities that exist here in Australia.”
Motorsport Australia will run initial development stages in Australia for drivers aged between 14 and 17.
Some of the best drivers will be invited to continue to the next stages where Motorsport Australia and the Ferrari Driver Academy will pick the best two of the year.
They will be invited to Ferrari’s Fiorano Circuit in Italy to compete against drivers from academies around the world.
The winning driver will be offered a drive with the Ferrari Driver Academy in a European Formula 4 Championship.
