Two Ginetta LMP1 cars have been confirmed on the provisional 2019/2020 FIA World Endurance Championship entry list. The two G60-LT-P1s will challenge for both the WEC and the Le Mans 24 Hours.
In preparation for next season’s competition, the manufacturer’s G60-LT-P1 LMP1 car – which is now powered by a high-performance AER turbocharged V6 engine – has undergone successful tests at Motorland Aragon and Spa.
“We are genuinely excited by the performance and potential of our LMP1 car now we have a competitive powertrain,” said Ginetta chairman Lawrence Tomlinson. “The aero has always been right up there with the very best and, as testing has shown, with the British AER engine, we now have the package to challenge for best privateer and even an outright win.”
Ginetta has also unveiled its all-new G61-LT-P3 LMP3 model at the Circuit de la Sarthe. The second generation LMP3 car for the 2020 season features an uprated power package, LMP1-inspired aerodynamics and enhanced safety credentials, as well as a series of detail changes to improve its overall performance.
