McLaren Automotive has appointed Jochen Schnez as its new chief quality officer, effective April 1, 2024.
In this role, Schnez will be based at the McLaren Technology Centre in Woking, Surrey, and responsible for driving quality initiatives, aiming to ensure that McLaren vehicles uphold the highest standards of excellence and reliability, throughout the development and manufacturing processes. He will report directly to Michael Leiters, McLaren Automotive’s CEO.
With more than 20 years of experience in automotive manufacturing quality, Schnez brings expertise from his tenure at Mercedes-Benz, where he oversaw operations at the Bremen facility. Leading a team of more than 300 people across two production plants, he managed both high- and low-volume product lines, ensuring stringent quality standards.
Prior to his automotive career, Schnez served as an Officer in the Naval Armed Forces and holds a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering from the University of Armed Forces.
