Danish supercar manufacturer Zenvo Automotive has appointed Jon Gunner as chief technical officer as part of its Aurora development program, which is nearing its next critical phase. This appointment has been made to enhance the company’s core technical team and ensure that the sportscar Aurora meets its target of maximum driver engagement.
Jon Gunner is a prominent figure in the automotive industry, known for his contributions to the design and development of technology in modern sports and supercars. He has played a significant role in the advancement of several high-performance models and been involved in development phases including engineering, production methods, weight saving, aerodynamics and speed.
Gunner’s most recent positions include head of innovation and vehicle line director for Aston Martin Lagonda, where he oversaw Specials, Q and GT Racing. He was also involved in the development of the original reborn Ford GT and held senior technical positions at Czinger and Koenigsegg, where he worked with Jens Sverdrup, who is now the chairman and chief commercial officer at Zenvo.
Jens Sverdrup said, “I have a long history of working with Jon, going back to 2011. Jon’s unique qualities make him the ideal CTO for a hypercar project. He is experienced, creative and able to make balanced decisions. His technical expertise and passion for design and aesthetics, combined with his awareness of commercial aspects, make him a perfect fit for our vision for Aurora.”
Gunner said, “When Jens and Christian [Brandt, chief designer] introduced me to their vision for Zenvo’s artisan hypercar range, I was immediately drawn to the team’s ambition to combine state-of-the-art vehicle performance with understated Danish design. After years of developing hypercars and super sports cars for others, I now have the opportunity to use my experience to build elite engineering teams and deliver the next generation of advanced and exciting Zenvo vehicles, starting with the Aurora Tur and Agil models.”
