Making its debut at the 12 Hours of Sebring in Florida, which takes place March 13-16, the Lamborghini Iron Lynx team has entered the GT Prototype class of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.
The SC63 LMDh car will make its first appearance in the US since its competitive debut in Qatar two weeks ago. The challenging track conditions at Sebring, known for its bumpy surface, present a different set of challenges compared with the opening round of the FIA World Endurance Championship.
Lynx says the team’s experience from the previous race in Qatar, where it completed a 10-hour race, will be valuable. The team also participated in a test session at Sebring in February.
Factory drivers Matteo Cairoli, Andrea Caldarelli and Romain Grosjean will pilot the #63 SC63, making their race debuts in the LMDh car. Additionally, a fleet of five Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO2s will join the grid, with four competing in the GT Daytona (GTD) class and two in the GT Daytona Pro (GTD Pro) class.
The Sebring schedule includes practice sessions on Thursday, qualifying on Friday and the main event, the 12 Hours of Sebring, on Saturday morning.
