On Friday, August 16, Maserati will introduce its newest super sports car at “The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering” in California. The event is part of the annual Monterey Car Week, which runs from August 14 to 19, and draws car enthusiasts, exclusive previews and auctions from around the world.
The new Maserati, designed, developed and produced in Italy, incorporates the racing heritage of the Maserati GT2 and is an evolution of the MC20, featuring the V6 Nettuno engine. The unveiling will be led by Giovanni Perosino, chief marketing and communications officer, and Klaus Busse, head of design for Maserati.
Alongside the new model, the event will showcase the MC20 Icona and MCXtrema. The MC20 Icona, inspired by the 2004 MC12 Stradale, is a limited edition series that debuted in June 2024 and will be presented to the North American public for the first time. The MCXtrema, revealed at The Quail in 2023, is a high-performance, track-only racing car of which just 62 units have been produced.
Maserati says the new super sports car is designed for those seeking performance without compromising on-road comfort, and features a range of customization options.
