Pat Symonds is to join Andretti Cadillac, having stepped down from his role as chief technical officer at F1, following seven years working for Formula One Management. During his time at FOM, Symonds was instrumental in forming the 2022 and 2026 rule sets.
Once his gardening leave from FOM is complete, Symonds will work from Andretti’s newly opened Silverstone, operation in the UK, in the role of executive engineering consultant. Despite having its application for an F1 entry rejected, Andretti is clearly still pursuing the project, with Symonds’ arrival a statement of intent.
