In addition to being the official tire supplier for the TCR touring car competition, Kumho Tire has also signed a deal to be the title sponsor and exclusive provider to the TCR World Tour.
A total of nine events have been selected by World Sporting Consulting (WSC) to make up the 2023 Kumho TCR World Tour (KTWT), with the opening races being held in Europe in Portugal, Belgium, Italy and Hungary in May, ahead of races in South America, Australia and Asia. Stand out circuits for the Tour include the Spa Grand Prix circuit in Belgium, and Bathurst in Australia.
All of the vehicles that compete within the upcoming KTWT will be fitted with the company’s ECSTA S700 racing tire that delivers high levels of traction in the dry, and the ECSTA W701 for wet weather scenarios.
“Kumho has been recognized for its quality and technological excellence by providing official tires for TCR Europe and other major events,” said Marcello Lotti, president of the organizing company, WSC. “I am certain that the inaugural KTWT will be an exciting series of races.”
“Building on years of technological expertise in motorsport, Kumho is expanding its horizon as a partner of the TCR World Tour,” said Janghyuk (John) Yoon, senior vice president of global marketing, Kumho Tire. “In this way we will continue to strengthen our position as a high-performance tire brand.”
