Australian lubricant manufacturer, Penrite Oil, has announced it has taken major naming rights to Erebus Motorsport’s 2016 V8 Supercars entry. Penrite joined the Erebus squad in the latter half of 2015, and have continued sponsorship of the #9 Erebus Motorsport car.
The announcement comes as Penrite celebrates its 90th anniversary this year, and the Australian company is keen to increase its support through the 2016 season.
“We believe V8 Supercars is the perfect fit for our brand,” said Jarrod Harding, Penrite Oil corporate partnership manager. “We really enjoyed our introduction last year as the primary partner of a leading race team, and we learnt a great deal which we’ll build upon this year.”
“Penrite is an Australian family owned and operated company and I am proud to have them as a primary partner,” added Betty Klimenko, Erebus Motorsport team owner. “They really got involved last year and are as excited about racing as we are. Technically we also need to be working with performance partners that appreciate the demands of motorsport as Penrite does.”
“John Dymond built Penrite into what it is today and he enjoyed all forms of motorsport,” concluded Harding. “The Dymond family want to maintain their involvement with Australia’s premier motorsport category which perfectly showcases Penrite Oil products.
“We’ll be rolling out many exciting activations throughout the year so we’re thrilled to be back on board.”
