Automotive Racing Products (ARP), a leading company in fastener technology, has recently released two new performance bolt kits. The first of these is a new Pro Series harmonic balancer bolt Kit for Nissan 2.6L (RB26) applications (above).
The kit consists of a 8740 Pro Series (M18 x 3.500″) bolt that is nominally rated at 200,000psi tensile strength, one 8740 chamfered washer and a 1/2 oz. pack of ARP Ultra-Torque fastener assembly lubricant.
ARP states that all of its bolts are cold forged ‘to ensure molecular integrity’, before being heat treated prior to being thread rolling, and finally machining and designed to exceed the OEM fasteners in strength and durability.
The second new component kit from ARP is a replacement main stud kit for Toyota’s 1.5L (1NZFE) DOHC 4-cylinder applications.
The comprehensive replacement kit includes a set of ten ARP2000 main studs that are nominally rated at 220,000 psi, ten 8740 chrome moly steel 12 point nuts, ten parallel ground washers and a 1/2oz. pack of ARP Ultra-Torque fastener assembly lubricant.
Much like the balancer bolt, ARP states that all of its Pro Series ARP2000 studs are subject to a rigourous design and manufacture process. Each bolt is centerless ground, heat treated prior to thread rolling and machining, and designed to exceed the OEM fasteners in strength and durability.
