Willans will launch its newly FIA-approved flexible fuel bladders to audiences at Professional MotorSport World Expo 2015
The new bladders are made from Willans W301 material, consisting of a Kevlar woven fabric covered in a unique elastomer, designed to be strong, thin, flexible and light.
The company says the result is tanks that are lightweight, able to hold more fuel and easier to insert through small apertures than traditional nylon bladders.
Simon Perkins, managing director, said: “We are very excited about our new Willans fuel bladders. We have invested heavily in the latest CAD/CAM software and CNC cutting machinery to allow a quick turnaround from initial design to the cut material ready for fabrication – we can now create a custom bladder from an old tank, a CAD drawing or even a simple sketch.”
