Cosworth will be showcasing its latest range of cutting-edge motorsport solutions at the Professional MotorSport World Expo 2016 (Cologne, Germany, 9-11 November).
Cosworth has over 50 years’ experience at the forefront of international motorsport, and the latest product range builds on the company’s foundations but with an eye firmly on its exciting future. The company specialises in the supply of complete electronics solutions to teams and series organisers, with a single point of support. Cosworth can provide custom scrutineering systems that remove the need for boxes on cars, and also works with media broadcasters to provide on-car video, telemetry data and track positioning.
Cosworth will be displaying its latest range of performance electronics at PMW Expo 2016, including its new CCW MKII steering wheel. The wheel features an integrated full-colour 4.3” display that can be customised with configurable pages, controls, alarms and images, and contains vibrant RPM and alarm indications with 14 tri-colour LEDs.
Another of the new products on display will be the RLU datalogger, which allows logging from a number of Cosworth devices via Ethernet, and eliminates offload time with instant data removal via USB. Also being showcased will be the RSP20, Cosworth’s most rugged, versatile and easy-to-use switch panel keypad to date. It features an ergonomic design that puts the driver’s needs at the heart of the product, and includes raised tactile buttons with integrated finger guards.
A further new addition to the Cosworth electronic arsenal is the company’s EtherCAT hardware (ESG16 and EAI32) for strain gauge and analogue inputs, which is supported by Diablo for off-car and wind tunnel applications. Diablo now also integrates to industry-standard pressure scanners: DTC Initium for PSI DTC scanners and Scanivalve DSA, DSM and ERAD. Remote control of the LaVision PIV system is another recent addition to Diablo.
Cosworth is also famed for its expertise in the field of powertrain development. Its ‘all under one roof’ ethos encompasses simulation, design/analysis, prototype manufacture, build, test and development and medium-volume production manufacturing.
This unique blend of services offers potent solutions for Cosworth’s customers, and includes the company’s celebrated piston capabilities, honed over half a century. Having provided pistons for Formula 1, NASCAR and MotoGP, Cosworth’s advantage rests in its unassailable knowledge base that enables the company to tailor piston design, material and manufacturing options to deliver the right mix of power, longevity and cost.
