When the SRO Motorsports Group launched the Blancpain GT Series app last year, it allowed race fans tp follow all ten rounds of the Blancpain GT Series live, from any location. The app was offered completely free and unlike most other racing apps – there were no additional In-App Purchases to gain access to further content.
The live stream function of the app allows users to watch all the qualifying and race action from both the Sprint and Endurance events, with commentary from SRO’s team of specialists. Race highlights and other video reports are available in the gallery.
The app’s functionality also includes the possibility to check live timing or get the latest information in SRO’s news section or through social media feeds. And the in-house photographers provide galleries full of shots from the paddock, pitlane and racetrack.
Ahead of the 68th running of the Total 24 Hours of Spa, SRO has announced two new features to make the app even more complete. To avoid users racking up sizeable bills due to too much data streaming on a mobile account, fans can now switch to SRO Radio, and just listen to the in-depth commentary from SRO’s team of specialists.
But the most impressive new aspect of the app are the 360° clips that will be available throughout the race week. The new video clips use multiple cameras to allow users to select their own view of the action.
